Turmeric Sliced Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large cucumbers
    4 onions, sliced fairly thick
    1 Tbsp. mustard
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Put a handful of salt over the cucumbers and onions; let stand 4 hours or overnight.
    Bring mustard, celery seed, sugar and vinegar to a boil.
    Add pickles.
    Cook 3 to 5 minutes.
    Do not let them get soft.
    Add turmeric to taste.
    Very good.
