Cheddar Cheese Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1/4 c. grated onion
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients. Add onion and mix together. Add buttermilk and shortening. Mix together. But do not beat. Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0 in an iron skillet.
