Crisp Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 medium sliced onions
    1/2 c. salt
    ice
    3 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers, onions and salt.
    Cover with ice and let stand 3 hours.
    Combine remaining ingredients.
    Pour over cucumber mixture and heat just to a boil.
