Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 qt. cucumber
6 medium onions
2 bell peppers
1/3 c. coarse or plain salt
ice
5 c. sugar
3 c. distilled vinegar (white or red)
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 Tbsp. mustard seed
3 qt. cucumbers (small to medium), sliced thin
1 qt. small yellow squash, sliced thin
2 green sweet bell peppers, sliced thin
2 red sweet bell peppers, sliced thin
6 medium onions, sliced thin
2 carrots, sliced thin
1/2 c. salt (pickling salt if possible)

These pickles are wonderful as a side dish for fish, barbecues, picnics or Sunday night sandwich suppers.
