Cajun Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    With mixer cream together butter and sugar; add egg and molasses.
    Mix until completely blended.
    Combine flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, salt and cloves.
    Add flour mixture and boiling water a little at a time to the butter sugar mixture.
    Mix until well blended.
    Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
