Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 to 2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 can cream cheese frosting
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat well after each addition.
    Beat in cocoa and food coloring.
    Sift together flour and salt; add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
    Sprinkle soda over batter.
    Pour vinegar and vanilla over batter and stir until blended.
    Bake in 3 greased and floured 8 to 9-inch cake
    pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 35 minutes.
    Ice with Cream Cheese Frosting.
