Swedish Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. beef stew, dredged with flour
3 Tbsp. margarine
2 Tbsp. butter
1 large onion, chopped
1 1/4 c. fresh brewed coffee
1 1/4 c. beef stock
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 small tins anchovies, chopped
salt and pepper
1/2 tsp. allspice
3 Tbsp. flour mixed with 2 Tbsp. water to thicken stew
Preparation

In heated Dutch oven, melt butter and 2 tablespoons margarine. Brown the beef.
Remove meat, add 1 tablespoon margarine and cook chopped onion 10 minutes.
Add coffee, broth, brown sugar and anchovies.
Bring to a boil.
Add meat and spices.
Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
Thicken with flour-water paste. Serves 4.
