Old-Fashion Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    milk (enough to make a soft dough)
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Add sugar, eggs, shortening and vanilla.
    Work up like biscuit dough using milk as needed.
    Roll out and cut with shaped cutters.
    You can add nuts, coconut or candied fruit, if desired.
    Bake slowly at 350\u00b0.
    The thinner you flatten, the crispier they are.
