Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans, chopped or whole
1 pinch of baking soda
Preparation

Butter a cookie sheet or line with wax paper.
Cook sugars and milk over medium heat, stirring until mixture starts to boil.
Add butter, pecans and soda.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until it reaches the soft ball stage (when a bit of candy mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball) or 238\u00b0 on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and beat with a spoon until mixture is creamy and begins to thicken.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. (If mixture becomes too hard, return to heat and add a little water.)
Makes 24 small pralines.
