Kay'S Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 soup bone, meat attached
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. water
    1 onion, quartered
    several celery leaves
    1/2 c. shredded cabbage
    1 pt. canned tomatoes
    1 pt. canned carrots
    2 to 3 diced potatoes
    1 can green beans
    1/4 c. barley
Preparation
    Brown all sides of meat in shortening.
    Add next 3 ingredients and simmer over low heat for about an hour or until meat falls from bone.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer until potatoes are done.
    Yields 4 to 6 servings.
