Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. cold water plus 4 Tbsp. water
    4 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Cream yolks with sugar.
    Beat egg whites and fold in with other ingredients.
    Add sugar and yolks (creamed).
    Add 1 cup ground walnuts.
    Bake in greased and floured 9 x 12 pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 60 minutes.
