Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beans
    2 qt. water
    1 ham hock or chunks of chicken, sausage or ground beef
    1 large onion
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 large can tomatoes
    carrots and celery to taste
    1 lemon, juiced
    sour cream
    shredded cheese
Preparation
    Place beans in kettle; cover in water. Add 2 teaspoons salt; soak overnight or boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 1 hour. Drain. Add 2 quarts of water and ham hock. Simmer 2 hours. Add veggies and seasonings. Simmer 1 hour or place in crock-pot. Add juice of 1 lemon. Top with cheese and sour cream.
