Quick Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 stick butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked pie shell
Preparation
    Mix brown sugar and beaten egg.
    Add flour and milk alternately.
    Beat until smooth; add vanilla and butter.
    Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until thick.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Top with meringue and brown; cool in refrigerator until served.
