Tamale Casserole - cooking recipe

2 (16 oz) cans tamales
1 medium onion thinly sliced
6 oz mild cheddar cheese sliced thin
1 16 oz can chili without beans
2 c corn chips broken
Preparation

Unwrap tamales cut crosswise into 1/2 inch slices.
Line 11/2 qt. casserole with half tamales slices.
Spread half chili over top.
Cover with half of the onions hen half of chips and half of cheese.
Repeat except for the cheese.
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
Top with remaining cheese.
Bake 10 minutes longer. Makes 4 to 6 large servings.
