Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 sliced onion
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. marjoram
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
    8 black peppercorns
    1 tsp. salt
    1 can beef broth, beer, wine or tomato juice (I use 1 can beer)
Preparation
    Wipe meat with paper towel.
    Over medium heat, brown meat in oil and butter all over, about 25 minutes.
    While browning, towards the end, add onion (roast and push to the side).
    Add all spices and salt; stir for about 1/2 minute.
    Then add liquid; bring to a boil.
    Reduce to simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours, covered; turn occasionally.
    Do this roast on top of stove.
