Hermits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 c. packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs; blend well.
Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon salt, allspice and cloves.
Gradually blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
