Mystery Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. sugar
    20 Ritz crackers
    1 tsp. vanilla
    small carton whipping cream
    3 Tbsp. pineapple preserves (crushed, drained and sweetened pineapple may be substituted)
Preparation
    Beat
    egg whites until stiff;
    add 1/2 cup sugar gradually while continuing to beat.
    Roll or blend crackers to very fine crumbs
    and
    mix in along with 1/2 cup sugar and fold in nuts. Fold
    this into egg mixture and add vanilla.
    Pour into well-greased
    pie
    plate
    (9-inch) and bake 30 minutes in 325\u00b0 oven.
    When done, set for 4 hours, then top with whipped cream with pineapple mixed in.
    Refrigerate overnight.
