Grits-Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. grits (uncooked)
4 c. extra sharp cheese
2 lb. sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
4 eggs, beaten
Preparation

Bring salted water to a boil.
Stir in grits.
Reduce heat and cook for 4 minutes.
Add cheese to grits, stirring until cheese is melted.
Combine eggs, milk, thyme and garlic.
Add some of the hot grits to egg mixture, stirring to blend.
Stir egg mixture into remaining grits.
Add cooked sausage.
Pour into a buttered 8 x 12-inch dish.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove 20 minutes before baking.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Serves 8.
