Maple Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    2/3 c. light corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. oleo
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. chopped pecans
    2 tsp. maple flavoring
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in a Dutch oven. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Stir in pecans. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches soft stage (236\u00b0). Remove from heat and stir in the flavoring.
    Beat with a wooden spoon 5 to 8 minutes until it begins to thicken.
    Working quickly, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
    Makes 2 dozen.
