Corn Dodgers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. yellow cornmeal
    2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. salt
    butter
Preparation
    Place cornmeal in large bowl; make well in center.
    Add salt and boiling water.
    Stirring until mixed thoroughly.
    Shape hot mixture into 3-inch patties with help of a spoon.
    Fry in butter until golden brown on both sides.
    Serve with bean soup or with butter and maple syrup with bacon and eggs.
    Yield:
    12 patties. Recipe over 100 years.
