Sweet Potato Cake Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 c. cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add sweet potatoes and vanilla, mixing well.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Combine flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add to sweet potato mixture and mix well.
Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
