Harvard Beet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. water
    2/3 c. beets, drained and dried
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 can cream cheese frosting
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter. Beat eggs and vanilla together.
    Add to creamed mixture; add dry ingredients and water.
    Drain and fine chop beets; stir into batter. Pour into 2 (8-inch) lightly greased and floured pans. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0. Cool. Fill with cherry pie filling between 2 layers and frost with cream cheese frosting. Chill and serve.
