Butter-Rum Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (5 1/3 oz.) can evaporated milk
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. coarsely chopped salted mixed nuts
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. rum flavoring
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. water
vanilla ice cream or angel cake slices
Preparation

In heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour and salt.
Stir in water.
Stir in evaporated milk and corn syrup.
Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Stir in nuts, butter or margarine and rum flavoring.
Serve warm over scoops of vanilla ice cream or slices of angel cake.
Makes 2 cups sauce.
