Lemon Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. confectioners sugar
    1 stick cold sweet butter
    grated lemon
    1 c. confectioners sugar
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    juice 1 lemon
    1/4 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
    1/4 tsp. each ground cinnamon and nutmeg
    toasted almond slices
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter and flour an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
    In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and butter to form a dough.
    Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
    Bake for 25 minutes.
    Allow this to cool; prepare remaining ingredients in large bowl.
    Whisk together remaining ingredients until well blended.
    Pour the mixture over cooled shell and bake 25 minutes. Allow to cool, then sprinkle with confectioners sugar and almonds. Cut into bars and serve.
