Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head cabbage
    pepper rings (optional)
    1 c. cheese
    buttered bread crumbs
    1/4 c. oleo
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 c. milk
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut cabbage in 1/8 wedges and cook in boiling salted water for 8 minutes.
    Put drained cabbage in greased baking dish.
    Melt oleo in saucepan and blend in cornstarch.
    Add milk, salt and pepper. Cook until mixture thickens.
    Pour this white sauce over cabbage. Top with pepper rings and the cheese and cover top with buttered bread crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until crumbs are brown.
