Snickers Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1 Tbsp. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. roasted peanuts
Preparation
    Melt together chips and shortening in a double boiler or microwave.
    Pour half into a buttered 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Cool.
    Melt caramels with butter and water.
    Add nuts and pour over cooled chocolate mixture in pan.
    Cool again.
    Top with remaining melted chocolate mixture.
    Keep refrigerated until serving time.
