Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

2 lb. frozen hash browns, thawed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 can cream chicken soup
8 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 pt. sour cream
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. onion, chopped
Preparation

Melt butter; saut onion in butter. Mix all ingredients together; stir in potatoes. Pour into 8 1/2 x 13 Pyrex dish. Top with 2 cups crushed corn flakes and 1/2 cup butter. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are done.
