Delicious Pecan Oat Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. rolled oats
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand.
    Mix sifted flour and baking powder and set aside.
    Cream butter, brown sugar and flavoring well.
    Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.
    Add dry ingredients, alternating with oatmeal. Add nuts.
    Spoon in paper baking cups in muffin tins.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 22 minutes.
    Makes 20 to 24.
