The Wizard'S Giant Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake compressed yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. flour
    cornmeal
    1 egg, beaten
    coarse salt
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water in
    a large mixing bowl. Add sugar and salt.
    Stir well. Add flour, one cup at a time, beating after each addition. Turn dough out onto a floured board and knead until smooth.
    Cut off small chunks of the dough. Roll into 1/2-inch ropes and twist into pretzel shapes.
    Dust cookie sheets with cornmeal.
    Arrange pretzels on the sheets.
    Brush tops of pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle generously with salt.
    Bake in a hot oven at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until brown.
    Makes 6 or 8 large pretzels.
