Strawberry Glace Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked and cooled pie shell
    1 qt. hulled strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Cut up 1 cup of strawberries.
    Mix with sugar and cornstarch in a 2-quart saucepan.
    Stir in water gradually until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and clear.
    Add red food coloring (if desired).
    Cool.
    Stir in remaining berries, saving 1/4 cup
    for garnish.
    Pour into crust.
    Chill until firm (3 hours).
    Top with Cool Whip; garnish with berries.
