Swiss Steak Smothered With Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 lb.) round steak
    1/4 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    3 c. thinly sliced onions
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 can mushrooms
    1 can beef bouillon
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. marjoram
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Coat surface of steak with a mixture of flour, salt, marjoram and pepper.
    Brown steak well on both sides in hot shortening in a large frypan with close fitting cover.
    Sprinkle any remaining flour mixture over steak.
    Add 1 cup of onions and the remaining ingredients.
    Cover and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours.
    Add remaining onions.
    Cover; continue cooking until meat is fork-tender, about 1 hour.
    Serves 6.
