Sweet And Sour Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. m.s.g.
dash of pepper
2 lb. stew meat (in 1-inch cubes)
1/4 c. cooking oil
2 c. water
1 c. catsup
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 chopped onion
diced potatoes, carrots and celery to taste
Preparation

Combine flour, m.s.g. and pepper.
Coat beef with flour mixture. Brown in oil in kettle.
Combine water, catsup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and salt.
Pour over beef. Add onion and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes.
Add remaining vegetables.
Simmer for 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours until beef is done and vegetables are tender. Yields 6 servings.
