English Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake mix
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sweetened strawberries
    1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
    1 container Cool Whip
    chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Bake cake according to package directions.
    Thaw strawberries and prepare pudding according to package directions.
    Take a sewing thread and moving it back and forth, cut one (9-inch) layer horizontally.
    Place bottom half of the layer in a casserole dish. Layer with strawberries and pudding.
    Place the top of the cake layer on top of this and top with another layer of strawberries and pudding.
    Top with a thick layer of Cool Whip to fill the bowl.
    Sprinkle with pecans.
    Chill until served.
