Microwave Vanilla Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. milk
    4 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
    whipped cream or meringue
Preparation
    In a 2-quart casserole, mix together sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Gradually add milk, mixing well.
    Cook with microwave on High 4 to 6 minutes or until thick, stirring every minute.
    Beat egg yolks slightly.
    Gradually add some of the hot mixture to egg yolks, stirring constantly.
    Add combine egg mixture to hot mixture and mix well.
    Cook with microwave on High 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes until thick, stirring every 30 seconds.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Pour hot filling into baked pie shell.
    Cool. Top with whipped cream or meringue.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
