Grits Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. grits
    4 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar, grated
    1/3 c. margarine
    1 to 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    dash of hot sauce
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Bring salted water to boil; slowly stir in grits.
    Cover, reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed, according to package instructions.
    Remove from heat.
    Whisk eggs slightly; then stir in small amount of grits to warm them.
    Beat egg mixture into grits.
    Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well.
    Pour grits mixture into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.
    Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
    Serves 6.
