Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. Aunt Jemima self-rising white corn meal
1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
1 small onion, finely chopped
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Combine self-rising corn meal, sugar and onion in bowl.
Add milk and egg to dry ingredients, stirring to combine.
Drop by heaping teaspoonful into hot deep fat (375\u00b0), frying only a few at a time.
Fry until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Makes 2 dozen.
