Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. cooked, shredded cabbage
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese (I use 1 c.)
buttered bread crumbs
Preparation

While cabbage is cooking about 7 to 8 minutes in boiling water to cover, prepare the white sauce.
Melt butter; add flour and seasonings.
Blend thoroughly.
Stir in milk gradually.
Cook until thickened.
When cabbage is tender, drain well.
In a 1-quart casserole,
alternate layers of cabbage, grated cheese and warm white sauce in greased casserole.
Top with buttered bread crumbs.
Bake at 350\u00b0 (preheated oven) for 20 minutes or until crumbs are delicately browned.
