Cinnamon Coffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. hot coffee
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream together thoroughly the shortening, brown sugar and egg. Stir in the hot coffee.
    Sift together all the remaining dry ingredients.
    Blend in nuts.
    Spread in a greased 13 x 9-inch oblong pan.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cut into bars.
    Frost while still warm with a thin coating of Quick Coffee Cream Icing.
    Makes 2 dozen.
