Banana Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    6 very ripe bananas, mashed
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar in large bowl.
    Mix bananas, vanilla and eggs into mixture of shortening and sugar.
    Sift flour, salt and soda; add alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in pecans and put into prepared pan.
    Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Glaze is optional.
