Asparagus Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. water or liquid from can of asparagus
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin, dissolved in 1/2 c. cold water
2 Tbsp. minced onion
3/4 c. chopped pecans or chopped water chestnuts
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 (16 oz.) can green asparagus, drained and cut
1 c. chopped celery
Preparation

Combine sugar and vinegar in 1 cup of water and salt to taste. Bring to a boil to dissolve sugar.
Dissolve gelatin in cold water.
Remove boiling mixture.
Add gelatin and onion and cool. Combine remaining ingredients and add to liquid.
Put in molds and chill.
Serve on lettuce with a teaspoon of mayonnaise on top.
