Hot Water Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising cornmeal mix
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    3 c. oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients in bowl.
    Boil water in pan on stove or in microwave (must be boiling).
    Add bacon grease to water. Pour into cornmeal, flour and sugar mixture.
    Stir until well mixed (about 15 seconds).
    Shape in patties and fry about 2 to 3 minutes in very hot oil until golden.
    Makes 6.
    Watch them disappear!
