Cake Mix - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 lb. flour
    1/3 c. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. salt
    8 c. granulated sugar
    3 c. shortening
Preparation
    Stir flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large pan.
    (A dishpan is good.)
    Sift 3 times.
    Cut in shortening with a pastry blender, fingertips, or a detachable mixer at low speed. (Shortening must be blended uniformly.)
    Store in covered container at room temperature.
