Canned Sweet Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage
    1 (3 lb.) bag onions
    18 green peppers
    10 green tomatoes
    1/2 c. salt
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Grind ingredients together and let stand overnight in salt, then rinse good with cold water and drain.
    Turn into large pan and add sugar, vinegar, turmeric and water.
    Bring to a boil. Simmer for 3 minutes, then put in canning jars and seal.
    Makes approximately 6 quarts.
