Basic White Or Cream Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. flour
Preparation
    Melt butter and blend in flour in the top of a double boiler and let simmer for a few minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Stir milk in gradually, using a spoon or whisk.
    Continue stirring until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
    Add salt and allow sauce to cook over hot water about 5 minutes.
    For cream sauce, add cream instead of milk.
