Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. or 2 sticks margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 c. flour
    1 can cherry pie filling
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. almond extract
    confectioners sugar to make a thick syrup
Preparation
    Cream together margarine and sugar and add eggs, beaten in one at a time, and extracts.
    Add flour; mix well.
    Grease and flour a jelly roll pan (16 x 11 x 1-inch).
    Put 2/3 batter in pan.
    Spread cherry pie filling on batter.
    Spread remaining batter on top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes, until brown on top.
