Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
Preparation
    Beat shortening and sugar until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt and blend into egg/sugar mixture.
    Mix in oats and chill. Shape stiff dough into balls or drop from a teaspoon about 2-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 in conventional oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool. Store covered.
