Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c margarine
    1/2 c vegetable shortening
    2 c sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c flour (cake flour)
    1 tsp soda
    1 c buttermilk
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp walnut flavor
    1/2 c of flake coconut (7 oz can)
    1 c chopped walnuts
    5 egg whites (stiffly beaten)
Preparation
    Cream shortening, margarine, and sugar.
    Beat until mixture is smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda and add creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla and walnut flavoring, coconut, and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool and frost.
