Judy'S Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Kraft caramels
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 small pkg. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk with a spoon. Press 1/2 of the mixture in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    It will be soft.
    Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in microwave or on stove, being careful not to scorch.
