Applesauce Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. soft margarine
2 c. hot applesauce
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Sift first 7 ingredients in a bowl.
Add eggs, brown sugar, margarine and 1 cup hot applesauce.
Beat until combined on low speed of mixer; then beat 2 minutes on medium speed.
Add remaining applesauce, dates and nuts.
Pour into greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
