Golden Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. finely crushed round scalloped crackers
    1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 egg whites
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Blend crumbs, pecans, sugar and baking powder.
    Beat egg whites and salt until stiff, not dry, peaks are formed.
    Fold in the crumb mixture, a small amount at a time.
    Turn into an ungreased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool completely before cutting into bars. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
